and Gio explained the true meaning of Christmas...

I was infront of the computer yesterday around 4pm. I was doing a mickey mouse globe balloon drawing in cad for my boy. He wants me to make it as a coloring page. While doing it, i received an international call. My adopted sister is bothering me again for money. I got angry not because she is asking for the money, but for the reason that she is making her life miserable... when i heard her saying, "kung walang magpapalaba, wala kaming kakainin mag-iina" (if no one will ask me to do their laundry, me and my children will not eat) It pains my heart and I was shouting on the top of my lungs at her. It is not supposed to be like this, me and my youngest sister are having a blissful family life. After I yelled at her, I hang up the phone and cried... my son Gio asked me, "why? why Mommy, what's the matter?" he asked so many times and then I answered him. "My son, do you remember your cousin, Pinky? yes, the one in the Philippines, he replied. Her mama is asking for money, i said to him. He replied back, I have money Mommy in my mickey mouse bag, I have 2, I can share to her my other money, let me get it." Gio came back bringing the bag, inside the bag, is a leather wallet and the content of the wallet are 2 pcs of Philippine peso bill (50 and 500). He handed over to me the Php.500 bill and he said, we can send it Mom, I can share my money to ate Pinky. I was touched by the way he reacted on the words that I uttered to him. I thanked God for another blessing, a loving and generous son and that is Gio. Gio inspired me to understand the true meaning of Chrismas... Merry Christmas to all!

2007- I got job from RTA
2008 – I got pregnant and gave birth to Joelle
2009- We spent our holiday to Philippines, bohol, cebu and to France, Lourdes and paris

I could not believe that I turned 10 years today here in Dubai, UAE. I started moving here when I accepted my ex-boyfriend proposal to marry him. After 8 long months of waiting, I finally arrived in Dubai last November 18, 2009- that marked as my first step in this deserted land. During the first week of my stay here, we were only busy preparing for our Civil Wedding which was held last December 28, 1999. My first six months was not happy at all, I can’t find a job, mom was very sick (she suffered from stroke and I was away) life was totally different, we were living on our own – perhaps that was our adjustment period. In June of 2000, I finally got my first job here as a Draftsman in an Interior Company which was located in Wafi Mall. I worked there until February of 2003. As soon as I started working, Eric and I moved to a new studio flat, we build our dreams, we played together, we enjoyed each others company, we helped each other in the house chores, I cooked, I washed the laundry and he cleaned the house and the toilet. We even decorated our flat, and it was just perfect for us. In the year 2001, Eric transferred to the sister company of where I was working, life change much with Eric when it comes to office ambience (from a nagging boss to a better one). In 2002, Eric got his driving license, we bought a second hand car, and we participated in WYD 2002 and got the chance to visit Canada. At the end of 2002, we took our vows in the Church, in San Agustin Church in Manila. 330 guests witnessed our wedding, and we thanked God for that blessing of Matrimony. By this year, we joined Couples for Christ Community and our way of life change to a more meaningful life. In 2002 also before we flew to Canada, we moved to a bigger flat, a two-bedroom flat with big hall in Al Nahda, Sharjah. In the middle of 2003, we decided to bring my sister here to work; fortunately she got her job after 6 months of trying. September 2003, I found out that I was pregnant with our first baby, and this baby was born last June 18, 2004 at Al Wasl Hospital and we brought him home to our 3rd flat. (Lamcy Area). In that year also, I got another job and work as an Interior Designer and shop manager in a small Interior Design Company, I stayed there for more that a year until I got my job in a nearby Company which the work was more challenging, added to it the schedule was even better than the previous one and the compensation of course. Eric sold his first car to a friend and took another 2nd hand car, this time a four wheel jeep Cherokee. In the year 2004, Eric and I shared a two-bedroom flat with my sister and my best friend Grace but it lasted only for a year as the unstoppable increasing of rent hit us. In the year 2004 also my mother in law and my youngest brother in law visited us here. Nanay helped and taught us on how to take care of our first baby (Gio) and Edmund came here to look for his job. In the year 2005 we moved again to our 4th flat, which was located in Al Baraha, the flat was very small and Eric was really disappointed. He even tried to look for a better one but they were all expensive. We stayed there for a year, and moved to our 5th flat, with more spacious areas, less expensive rent fees, peaceful ambience with free water and electricity bills. In 2005, We celebrated Gio’s first birthday with our family and friends and we took our first family holiday with my parents in Hong Kong, but sad event happened also during this year. My father in law was diagnosed with leukemia and he did not stay long. He died last December 14, 2005. The year 2006 was even better, Eric was promoted in his work, but our car was giving us problems, then we decided to sell it and took a brand new car – (we got Prado!) . In the year 2007, my prayers were answered, after an 8 years of praying, finally I got the perfect job, my application to RTA was approved. In early months of 2008, I got pregnant again and this time Baby Joelle came to us last October 17, 2009. In the same year, Eric’s 5 year accommodation request was finally granted.

For my Sister-Shiego!

I always remember all the things we shared together,
From the time we were little sisters
We had fight, we had differences but,
In my heart you will stay forever.

You’re my helping hand in times of need,
An angel from above in word and deed
You’re a friend that I can share my sorrow,
and a perfect sister who leads me to tomorrow.

You’re a friend, a playmate and a sister,
Who is always there to love and care.
I am glad that you’re the sister I have.
I love you and for you, I thank God!

Happy Birthday Shiego!!!

Happy Birthday, Mama!

A daughters Love to Mama…

I grew up with your love and tender hugs,
You did everything to make me glad.
You thought us good values and love for God.

God has gifted me with a wonderful Mom,
Who cheer me up and fill my cup.

From my birth until the day I’ve given birth,
eventhough you are miles away,
Your prayers were sent to ease my pain.

Mama, you are always the best,
A loving mom with a forgiving heart,
A mom that is special from the rest.

I love you, and my heart will always be blessed.
Happy Birthday Mama!

A part of my life, that I am not proud.

I would like to reveal this not so told part of my life, that I am not proud

My parents have been blessed with children, if you will notice that I am always describing or telling a story about my sister Shirly. But the truth is I still have one more sister, her name is Cristina, she is 3 years older than I am…hmmm she’s my adopted sister. We don’t know her parents…let me tell you about her, about her being a part of my life.

My father was a worker in plastic corrugated roof fabrication before, during lunch; he used to go to a nearby place wherein he can buy his food. One day while taking his lunch, a man approached him and asked him if he wants to have a child. Directly he said “yes”, this man offered him to take his daughter in exchange of some amount – a bus fare that could bring this child’s mother to their hometown in Isabella. This man told my father that they need to separate their ways as they are not married, and this child came to them out of wedlock. They don’t have any money to feed her that is why they decided to give her to my father. My father took her and gave the amount the lady she needed for her to be able to go home. My father was happy very happy bringing this child to my mother. Mom accepted her with open arms; she was then longing to have a child.. They named her, Cristina; mom was saying that she took her name from Christmas because she came to their lives in December of 1972. They arranged her baptism and birth certificate and they treated her as their own daughter. They were so happy, and they did not expect that God will give them another daughter when she turned 3 years. It was me who was born from them, after a year mom got pregnant again and by this time, Shirly was born, my biological sister.

As I remember, Papa, left us when I was 5 years, he flew and worked in the Middle East and he worked there for almost 7 years. He was just visiting us for a month in each year. Mom raised us up with love. She taught us to pray together, to love one another, to study hard so we can finish our school and to have a good future. She never forgets to tell us how we were blessed. She was a good example to our youthful years. As we grow together, my sister Cristina was showing a totally different attitude. While I and Shirly were receiving honors from the school, she kept on failing her grades, and even she’s been reported to my Mom that she keeps on fighting with her classmates. She became Mom’s headache, a stubborn child, not eating the same food that Mom was serving, not having the same interest as what we like. I want to be an Architect, Shirly wants to be a Dentist, and Cristina wants to be an entertainer/dancer in Japan.

The time has come that Papa, stayed for good in Manila, because Mom was always sick. He’d noticed the stubbornness of Cristina, and they decided to tell her that she is their adopted daughter and they assure her that they love her. I witnessed this, my parents were equal in treating us or sometimes she even more got the better or the favorable things. But she never became thankful and instead, she became ungrateful and proud. She knows that they love her so much that they will give or she will get whatever she wanted.

The first time she did a bad thing to us was, when she stole all the gold jewelry that Papa earned from his work abroad. We all have 2 sets of earring; a family necklace (wherein the designs are all the same) watches and rings with red stones. She took this little by little ( Mama trusted us all, she told us about the bag where she kept in the jewelry, she even left the key of the cabinet – in case there’s emergency, anyone of us can save these and the important documents.). But she, broke their trust, she was taking it one by one and bringing it to different pawnshop… we learned about this when the paper came that we need to take these all or else it will be auctioned. Mom, took these valuables without Papa’s knowledge, because if Papa will learn about this, for sure he will get angry and he might beat her. We thought that this will end there, No, it was just the beginning of her very bad and shameful act. She repeated doing this, I believe for 4th times until all of these hard earned valuables went to nothing. The was also a time that she left us and did not inform where she was going or staying, Papa, just found out that she was practicing in one of the talent studio in a nearby city, so she will be able to work in Japan. She also worked as a promoter/merchandiser of jeans, and all she brought to Mom was failure, she has been dismissed from her work for not working well, fighting with co-workers and loosing all her items, Mom paid all of these just for her to be released.

Time came that she got married at the age of 19, she got pregnant right away with a baby girl, after 5 years God gave her a baby boy. My parents did not become tired of reaching her. They even helped her husband to find a work in abroad. Her marriage life was a chaos, they keep on fighting each other and she was always physically hurt from her husband. When her husband flew to Saudi Arabia, we thought that their lives will be peaceful and calm as we were hoping for their better family life. My sister fall, she committed adultery and left her 2 kids with her in laws, it was too painful for us to accept it, But Mom, still forgiven her. I even requested them to be civilized during my wedding, because being my eldest sister; I want her to be there on that very special day. She never became contented with her sin, she added another one, and that’s being pregnant with that man. My parents were so angry but in time they learned to forgive her again, but they never accepted that man as her husband. She is having 2 kids now with her other man. She will frequently call me and ask for money. We did not closed our door to her, my sister Shirly and I have been so generous, that we even give her gifts aside from the money that she were asking. I even give her things to sell, so she will have money to feed her kids. She always comes to my parent’s house and eats there with her kids. Her life was very comfortable with us. There was even almost a year that I was sending her good amount of money. She will call me, before the end of the month, and she will ask directly for some amount. We hide this from our parents, because they know that she will not value the money that we hardly work. She always lends money to Mama and she’ll not pay her. She never contented with the money she took from Mama, she even lied to our Auntie Josie. (mom’s youngest sister). She created a story that she wants to change her way of life and work abroad again! Aunt Josie begged my parents to give her another chance and another amount of money. They did it. Mom and Auntie gave her an amount of money to pay the agency which will send her to Malaysia. The day came that she will leave and fly, after 4 days, Papa went to Divisoria Market to have his walking exercise and buy some vegetables and fruits. On his way – he saw my Ate Cristina, with that man and 2 kids. She runs away from Papa’s sight. She never leaves the country, she lied to Aunt Josie and Mama, in short, she took the money again out of her stories, and she swindled them!

Papa told me to cut our relationship with her… I know in my heart, she will be going to come back, my prayers are with her, I am still hoping that someday she will be able to correct her mistakes.

Thank you for the blessing of friendship

Thank you for always being there whenever I feel weary.
Thank you for listening to all the blows and woes of life.
Thank you for showing your love, your kindness and care.
Thank you for the smile, the laughter and the cry we shared together.
Thank you for giving me the strength to stand up and face each trials of my life.

Thank you for opening my eyes, to see the goodness of life.
Thank you for standing beside me when the road is fearful and lonely.
Thank you for holding when the storm and thunder of doubts are blowing me.
Thank you for walking with me when the forest is dark of trepidation.
Thank you for the guidance, which leads me to be a good follower of Jesus.
And lastly, I am thankful to God that He gives the perfect blessings that I need, and that blessing is you.

I love you my friend!

Fajuts in France - on Visiting Lourdes

Lourdes (Occitan: Lorda) is a commune in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in south-western France.
Lourdes is a small market town lying in the foothills of the Pyrenees, famous for the Marian apparitions of Our Lady of Lourdes that are reported to have occurred in 1858 to Bernadette Soubirous. At that time, the most prominent feature of the town was the fortified castle that rises up from a rocky escarpment at its centre.

Following the reports that Our Lady of Lourdes had appeared to Bernadette Soubirous on several occasions, Lourdes has developed into a major place of Christian pilgrimage and of alleged miraculous healings. The 150th Jubilee of the first apparition took place on 11 February 2008 with a outdoor mass attended by approx 45,000 pilgrims.
Today Lourdes has a population of around 15,000 but is able to take in some 5,000,000 pilgrims and tourists every season. With about 270 hotels, Lourdes has the second greatest number of hotels in France after Paris.[citation needed]
It is the joint seat of the diocese of Tarbes-et-Lourdes and is the largest pilgrimage site in France, the second site being the Basilica of St. Thérèse (Lisieux), in Normandie.

Family Group Hug

Visiting Lourdes is one of God’s privileges to our family. I dropped the fact that we can go and visit the place as the recession arises here in the country where we are staying. Added to it, we don’t have the chance also to stay for more than a week, as the school classes are starting and I know that adding more days means more expenses. But with God’s grace and with the help of Tita Marivic in praying that we may be able to visit this Holy place, we did it! Everything comes into its proper places, from the option of taking a long night train to the 1 hour plane ride via Air France (got a good price better than the train ride) and an 80 meters away hotel from the Lourdes Sanctuary- Hotel Roissy (it is very comfortable since I am carrying an infant and a 5 year old boy + a back pack full of baby stuff. No pressure, no hassles and safe. We even met people of different nationalities, hospitable, friendly and smiling faces all over the place.

God amazed us as we start our journey from his wonderful creations. The feeling was different as we touched the rocks where the Virgin Mary exactly showed up to St. Bernadette. I could not hold my tears as I felt blessed. On our way to exploring what are the things around the sanctuary, we came up to the place of bath. There is a special queue for Mothers with small children and I grabbed it. It was a 2 hour waiting, but it is worth the wait. I’ll not tell what happened inside as I want you to experience it by going there. The amazing God did not stop from surprising us, the next day as we plan to attend the English Mass (Sunday –September 20, 2009) we took our breakfast early and headed right away to the underground church to get a seat… Wow! What a beautiful place it was, you will never recognize its beauty from outside, a structure built in 1958 an immense pre stressed concrete underground church, seating 20,000, was dedicated to Lourdes.

The underground church was designed by the architect Pierre Vago. The nave is oval, 191m long and 61m wide, and slopes gently upwards from the center, where the sanctuary is situated on a raised platform. The ceiling is low, at only 10m high, and is supported by 58 pre-stressed concrete pillars which meet 29 concrete beams which cross the ceiling, giving it the impression of an upturned ship. This design creates a very large open space, of 12,000m2, for maximum visibility from any part of the nave. The walls are decorated with Stations of the Cross, a depiction of the Rosary, and a depiction of the Apparitions, making a total of 52 images, all in the local Gemmail style of overlapping stained glass and hanging images of all the saints (back to back).

As for our knowledge the mass will start at 9:00 am and it’s already 9:30 am and still they are preparing. I asked my hubby to carry Joelle as my I have stomach pain and I need to go to the toilet. As I finished from the toilet, I felt the need to ask why the mass is not yet starting, ooppss, it was a mistake, the English mass is already starting and not in that place. I came back to my family running and tell my hubby to prepare as we will be going to the chapel where the English mass is held. In God’s grace we still managed to attend the mass and finished it, my children were very cooperative, we were standing at the back but you will noticed that they are really well behave. After the mass, we went to the faucet were you can drink and collect the healing water from the spring. Then we headed back to our hotel for check out, did some shopping for our souvenirs and the taxi service drove us directly to the Lourdes Tarbes Airport to fly back to Paris. It will be Gio’s turn to enjoy Disneyland…

A call for HELP- for the Filipino people...

The Philippines capital city and the surrounding suburbs in Metro Manila were badly hit by the typhoon Ondoy. They sufferred from the heavy rain fall which brought flood to most of the areas like Northern Luzon, Metro Manila and Rizal. Many are still missing, hundred of people died of drowning, houses are still sinking in flood waters. Poor and rich, children and old, babies and pregnant mothers, even famous celebrities were affected. My sister and I were so thankful that our old ones are not affected, we don't know what we will do if they belonged to those victims of flood, as we are very far away from them. Thank God for shielding them. We are thankful but at the same time we are sad for the suffering of our fellow countrymen. Now, readers, passersby and friends, let us put our hands together near our hearts and pray with me sincerely for them to stand up again, and gain their strength, so they may be able to face this as a challenge in their lives. Let us help one another by donating clothes, blankets, can or cooked food, medicines and monetary help.

The Fifteen Promises of Mary to Christians Who Recite the Rosary

  • Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the rosary, shall receive signal graces.
  • I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the rosary.
  • The rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.
  • It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the heart of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
  • The soul which recommend itself to me by the recitation of the rosary, shall not perish.
  • Whoever shall recite the rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not by an unprovided death; if he be just he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.
  • Whoever shall have a true devotion for the rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church.
  • Those who are faithful to recite the rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.
  • I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the rosary.
  • The faithful children of the rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in heaven.
  • You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the rosary.
  • All those who propagate the holy rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
  • I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death.
  • All who recite the rosary are my son, and brothers of my only son Jesus Christ.
  • Devotion of my rosary is a great sign of predestination.
(Given to St. Dominic and Blessed Alan) Imprimatur: Patrick J. Hayes DD Archbishop of New York)

My attention was called to this site by my daughters and I am quite disappointed that you are holding an event using his name and persona to make money off without my express permission.
Did you even course this through the Philippine NATIONAL Red Cross? If so, why is their name on your invitation wrong? It just says Philippine Red Cross. It's very haphazard. I am terribly, terribly hurt by this. I hope you could respect me and my dearly beloved's memory by not exploiting his death.
What you are doing goes against the values Francis wrote about in his songs. This is exactly what he spoke of when he wrote those lyrics speaking of graft, corruption and greed.
Do the right thing.
God bless,

Loser?!

I was a bit upset when my sister told me that my son told her this “ you’re a loser”, of course she was surprised upon hearing this from his favorite nephew. She asked him where did he learned or heard that nasty word, he said –from Mama, my sister could not believed it?!

The next day while she was at the office, she was still thinking what my son uttered to her, we are not used to hear or say any bad words, except if we are terribly angry but not in front of him. I then asked my son to whom did he learned that…

Mommy : Gio who told you that word?

Gio : Mama

Mommy : No, I never said that to you. Did you hear that in school?

Gio : No, only in the house, Full House!

Full house?! What? Ah, ok…now I remember, we have this Filipino channel at home and this is the very first time that I agreed to have Pinoy Channel, why? From now on, I will not let my son watch those kinds of sitcom…. I know my son does not mean what he said to his Aunt. I don’t want to blame anybody, I know that this is my responsibility, guarding and protecting my children for anything that I know will cause damage to their well being.

My Joelle @ 3rd month

And I love you…my baby girl…

I never expected you to come into my life,

But who am I to refuse this so-called gift from God.

In those nine long months of waiting,

As my body, belly and nose are growing

I can’t hide my smile knowing that you’re coming!

My child, all I want is to hold you forever and

Praying that we will always be together,

I promise you, in my heart you will stay forever.

Mommy is saying thanks to God

For giving me such adorable child,

And she is Joelle – A loving child from God.

To you my Joelle – you will always be my little girl!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Joelle's 3rd month development:

- sleeping at 5 hours stretch during the night

- beginning to interact with others by cooing, oohing & flasing smiles

- watching tv

- grabbing and eating her hands

Thank you for Ninong Jeff, Jowel, Tito Hadjie & Tito Edmund and family for the visit.

Thank you to Lola Gay who prepared, spaghetti, dinuguan with puto, fish salad and rellenong pusit.

Boy Kahoy... ... ...

I sat down down at our living area while feeding my son (Gio) last night...sakto naman na open ang tv namin sa GMA at pinapalabas nga itong 'boy kahoy" sa i-witness.

I will not make it long...alam ko naintindihan nyo ako kaya, let us continue to pray for each other... lalo na ngayong panahon ng crisis...

Episode on January 5, 2009
Monday late night after Saksi

They scour the streets daily, riding their “pedicab" to find scraps of wood they could still sell. They endure the heat of the sun and carry the weight of the collected wood just to earn enough money to bring home to their families.

Sandra Aguinaldo follows the lives of these child wood collectors and tries collecting scraps of wood in her first I-Witness documentary for 2009.

13-year old Benjie has been collecting wood scraps for five years. Benjie doesn’t mind the heavy workload, because finding these pieces of wood gives him the money to provide for his mother and four siblings. He says his body has become accustomed to the daily grind of waking up early and combing the streets of Manila for morsels of lumber.

For siblings Jessie and Jordan, finding and selling wood is their only means for survival. The two minors are homeless and depend only on their earnings to pay for their growing debt in the carinderia where they buy their food daily.

The difficult yet hopeful lives of these kids unfold this Monday in Sandra Aguinaldo’s I-Witness, airing this January 3, Monday midnight, after the late night newscast Saksi.

Pasko man o Bagong Taon pa.

Back to Work!

I am back to work...back to my old self... back to the reality....

3 long months vacation leave was one of the best times na naranasan ko sa buong buhay ko.

In that 3 long months I experienced the joy of being a full mother and wife. Those everyday routine made me more appreciate the value of my family...

- Putting him to bath is my bonding moment with Gio.

- I even tried cooking different kinds and flavor of pasta for his meal.

- Gio is treating me not only his mother but his best friend as well.

I love dressing them up, lalo na si Joelle...iba pala ang feeling of having a baby girl, specially kamukha ko sya..hehehehe…(jaz a proud mom!)

- Marcus is another joy in my life, he is my sister's baby pero parang baby ko na din sya...mabait na bata si Marcus, you will get his smile for free... and I love to call him Macuz…cuznet!

But then I have to go back to my work...carrying a grateful and heart and thanking God for letting me experienced this wonderful life!
