When God said No!
It was March 22, 2010 when Eric received a call from the Catholic School where we want Gio to attend his junior years. He was selected to take the entrance examination and we were so happy to know that. At least he has a big chance. By the way, this School is the only Catholic School here in Dubai. Eric and I want to take advantage of the Catechism schedule which will lessen the schedule of our very busy weekend. Added to it, the school fee is much much cheaper than his present school.
April 10, 2010 came and I was so anxious and nervous about this, I know that he has a lot of competitors, from different schools and different nationalities. He stayed there from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon. We asked him how was it, and he answered us promptly that teacher said he was very good!
April 15, 2010, Eric got a phone call from an old high school friend which happens to be the father of one of those kids who took the entrance exam, the school called him and inform him that their son has been accepted and admitted. We did not receive any call on that day. I searched on their website and found out that we will receive a call by April 17, 2010.
April 17, 2010- it was Eric’s schedule to take the IELTS examination, no phone allowed, we decided to exchange our mobile phones as we were expecting a call from the school. I did not receive any single call on Eric’s phone, but after Eric’s examination he checked my phone and got 5 missed call from the school. I was desperately trying to call back but only a recorded message was the one answering. Oh God! I need to wait for another day. By next day, I called up the school early in the morning and they refused to give me the result and they said that they will call back. Two hours had passed and no one is calling me. I am getting inpatient, (whew) after that I tried again, and then this time they replied, “Saying that, we regret to inform you we can not accommodate him for this school year.” Then I replied back, ok, thank you.
I did felt sad a bit but no tears came out. As Eric and I prayed about this, if this is His will, let it be done. But if not, may we learn to accept and be grateful for his plans. May God be Praise!
